Testimonials From Our Parent Community

“The Adventure Camps that my two children have attended each summer of their entire childhoods - from age 8 to now, counselors in college - have been probably the most positive experiences they've had, and we are so grateful to witness and share in this appreciation. They look forward to camp and sharing stories with each other and their friends all year long. Camp has allowed them both to form and deepen friendships, expand their wings, take up responsibility for their duties, feel comfort and connection to nature, and the peace one finds under the stars, in song around a campfire, in the wilderness.”

“Adventure camps are great for kids! They allow children to explore their wild side without going completely feral. Outstanding staff as well; they work so hard to create a deep and enriching environment in which the campers will thrive. Would highly recommend for all ages!”

“The Adventure Camps are the highlight of the year for my children, as they have been for many years. The leaders of the camps often seem to hit on the perfect, healthiest combinations of community activity, work, play, and, most importantly, reverence. The camp life affords my children glimpses of high moral ideals of society and of life; the effect on them is striking. We are so grateful to the adults who are dedicated to organizing and running these camps. My children come back from camp rejuvenated, spiritually nourished, and ready for a school year; and, as such, form almost a festival of the late summer in terms of the cycle of the year. I whole-heartedly recommend Adventure Camps to families that are curious about them.”

“As a parent and educator, I was thrilled to see my child come back from the camps so excited to tell us about their experiences. It was so inspiring to watch their enthusiasm and curiosity for the world and the great outdoors renewed, something I had not seen in quite some time! They learned invaluable life skills, made new friends, and had so much fun doing it! I fully recommend these camps to anyone seeking engaging, educational, and wholesome experiences for their child of any age. There is so much value in “education” of this kind outside of the classroom and school year. Thank you to everyone involved.”

“Backpacking together very quickly made us into a wilderness family! We learned how to support each other through the challenges, and to rejoice together at our accomplishments. We found a way to make camp wherever we were. But camp was far more than tents, sleeping bags, and a fire pit - it was the community we built through the challenging hikes, the daily story-time, the joyous singing, the games, and the relaxed moments together. Bonds of friendship are forged sitting under a tree or jumping in a lake after a long day’s hike. Experiencing that kind of community can give great confidence to young people growing up in such uncertain times.”

“My daughter was very happy when she came back from camp. She had a really three-dimensional experience of life in its best way: supported, nurtured, with a taste of independence, trust, and adventure. We can't wait for next year!”

"My sons had an amazing time at the Adventure Camps. After our move left us without a Waldorf school nearby, we were searching for a camp that could provide some of the aspects we were missing at home. Adventure camps were perhaps our luckiest discovery to date, providing such an important experience every summer for my children and now their friends as well. These camps are such an important part of our family's life and we cannot recommend them highly enough."

“I can say with certainty that my daughter's time at The Adventure Camps was one of the best decisions I've ever made for her. Every day she was surrounded by beauty, immersed in the wilderness alongside friends, and taught incredibly valuable lessons about respect for the environment and for all living things. She grew as a person and emerged from the camp with a newfound sense of self-confidence and purpose that she will bring with her into the coming school year.”

My daughter's time at camp has been a transformative experience. She has gained an understanding of the importance of self-discovery and has found a newfound faith in her own abilities. She has developed an appreciation for the beauty of the natural world and has retold the amazing stories she learned. We are so grateful for all you do!”

"Not only do the children get to live outside for two weeks, but they are under the guidance of loving adults who provide home-cooked meals and encourage plenty of singing. My son had the best time!"
